A spectacular winter wonderland is soon returning to Weston’s iconic Tropicana following last year’s phenomenal success.
Icescape @ The Tropicana opens its doors on Friday 19 October at the seafront venue, featuring the UK’s largest covered winter ice rink, delicious food and drink, Santa’s Grotto, and much more.
Skaters can take to the ice come rain or shine thanks to a clear canopy above the ice which will be decorated with glowing festive lights.
After a 45-minute skating session, visitors can relax with some food and drink in The Lodge, the covered seating area.
Santa’s Grotto is back to give an enchanting experience for children meeting Santa and his elves, and Pippen the Penguin will give people a helping hand on the ice.
Last year more than 120,000 visitors flocked through the doors, travelling from all over the South West.
A five-year contract has been signed with North Somerset Council so Weston will be the festive ice-skating capital of the region for years to come.
This year parent and toddler sessions will run on selected days during school term time in November, and you can book in for an Eat, Skate and Be Merry Christmas party.
For an early-bird price of £20 per head, party-goers can have a 45-minute skate session followed by hot food at The Bay Café. A DJ will then be playing in the Tropicana bar. More details will be announced soon on the Tropicana’s Facebook page.
Icescape runs until Sunday 6 January (closed Christmas Day). Skating tickets will be available every day from the box office on-site.
Advance tickets are available online from www.icescape-tropicana.co.uk from September. If you book online you get three hours of free parking on the seafront.
