Fun ways to burn off the Christmas bloat

If you’ve had one too many mince pies already this festive season there are lots of opportunities to stretch your legs and burn off a few calories.

Some of the highlights include…

  •  Festive heated swim 10am-11.30am, Christmas Day, Portishead Open Air Pool. Swim and sing along to Christmas songs in 28C water. Donations on the door.
  • RNLI Christmas Day Swim – 10am-noon, Tuesday 25 December, Knightstone Plaza, Weston-super-Mare. Meet at 10am by the temporary RNLI lifeboat station. Refreshments available, including mince pies and mulled wine. Everyone welcome.
  • New Year’s Day boundary walk – 11am-3pm, Tuesday 1 January, National Trust Tyntesfield, Wraxall. With 540 acres of land to explore, Tyntesfield is the perfect place for walking.   • Champion tree walk – 9.30am-12.30pm, Sunday 20 January, National Trust Tyntesfield, Wraxall. Tyntesfield is home to more than 40 champion trees – the tallest, widest and oldest of their species.
