A stretch of road through Banwell is set to be improved next week.
The A371 is having some preparatory work done to it ahead of further surface improvements next year, as part of North Somerset Council’s commitment to maintaining the area’s roads.
The work takes in Castle Hill, Banwell Road, Woodborough Road and Sidcot Lane.
Work begins on Monday evening (18 February) and is expected to last eight nights and a road closure will be in place between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday.
The work is being carried out in two phases:
Phase 1 – closure of the A371 (Castle Hill, Banwell Road, Woodborough Road) from the junction with A368 East Street in Banwell to the junction with Sandford Road, Winscombe.
Phase 2 – closure of the A371 (Woodborough Road, Sidcot Lane) from the junction with Sandford Road to the junction with A38 (Bristol Road/Bridgwater Road).
Vehicle access to properties will be available where the works allows, and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
On-street parking will not be available during the works.
