Comment on coast path proposals

Have your say on plans to improve public access and create the North Somerset section of an iconic walking route.

Natural England is planning to open the 48-mile stretch of coast between Aust in South Gloucestershire to Brean Down.

The route would link the national coast paths of England and Wales at Severn Bridge, creating a continuous coastal walking path of more than 1,600 miles.

Plans feature significant improvements to coastal footpaths in North Somerset, including more than seven miles of new path between Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare.

Local residents, visitors, organisations, farmers and businesses can now have their say.

If approved, the route will become part of the 2,700-mile long distance walking route, the England Coast Path.

All comments must be received by midnight on Thursday 19 September.
