Could you get active for 30 minutes a day to improve your health and wellbeing?

Would you like to win some prizes too?

Recent statistics show that nearly one in five adults in North Somerset are not meeting national health guidelines for physical activity.

To encourage more people to get their heart rate up, North Somerset Council’s sports and active lifestyles team has launched the #Your30MinutesYourWay campaign.

It aims to encourage adults of all ages to commit to being more active each day – whether that’s gardening, dancing, walking or even doing household chores.

The 30 minutes can be used in a variety of ways and even broken into 10-minute chunks.

Everyone who signs up at www.n-somerset.gov.uk/your30minutesyourway will be entered into a free prize draw with a chance of winning a Fitbit, a free month’s membership at Scotch Horn, Hutton Moor or Backwell leisure centres, free premium three-month membership at Parish Wharf and Strode leisure centres, or a t-shirt.

And anyone who shares a selfie on social media of themselves completing their 30 minutes exercise during August could be in with the chance of winning a free month’s fitness membership to Hutton Moor in Weston-super-Mare, Scotch Horn in Nailsea or Backwell leisure centre.

Selfies need to be tagged with #Your30MinutesYourWay and @Go4LifeNS
