Organisations across North Somerset can now apply for up to five free bike stands to help encourage their employees and visitors to cycle.
The Claim a Stand scheme, run by North Somerset Council with funding from the Department for Transport Access Fund, is available to local businesses, community groups, leisure providers, schools and more.
Organisations can apply for up to five Sheffield-type stands in a high grade stainless steel finish.
Each stand provides parking for two bikes, which can be secured using a D-lock or cable lock.
Secure cycle parking can be a key factor in deciding whether to take to two wheels or not.
If cycle parking is not provided, cyclists have to leave their bikes further away from their destination.
Instead, if a cycle stand is right by the entrance then it is a welcoming sign that cycling is actively encouraged.
Download an application form from www.travelwest.info/businesses/north-somerset and make your application before Thursday 31 October. Applicants are responsible for the collection, installation and associated costs of the stands.
