Plans to uncover the nationally-significant Iron Age hillfort overlooking Weston-super-Mare are moving forward.

Worlebury Camp has been hidden by trees for 200 years and this vegetation is causing damage to the Scheduled Monument, which is now on Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register.

Funding secured for Portishead Rail

The re-opening of Portishead’s railway line is back on track after the scheme received more than £31m of funding from the Department for Transport.

The funding for MetroWest Phase 1, which includes the reopening of the Portishead to Bristol rail line, was announced last week.
